| President's Message |
Dear neighbor,
Our association’s Spring Clean up was again a very successful event. With the support of the Charles County Sherriff’s Department along with the County and a handful of association members we were able to successfully clean all major arteries of the community, re-paint the tot lot on Holm Oak, clear the overgrowth along the community trails, plant new annuals at both entrances to the community and last but not least we cleaned and cleared the storm water management pond discharge area located on Charter Oak. The clearing and clean up of the pond was of significant importance due to the County’s request for the association to clean this area up. I would like to thank all of my fellow Board members who, as usual, lead the teams of folks whether they were picking up trash, painting, cutting, planting or digging. There was a cast of nearly 30 folks who worked hard to improve the appearance of our community.
I would like to especially thank the association members who took time out of their busy schedules to participate in this event including Ken Stormer, Terry Modlin, Yeldez Rogers and Frank Daskievige. I would also like to send a special thanks to association member Mark Fine who made arrangements to have 25 pizzas delivered to the worksite to feed all of the hungry workers. By supplying 25 large pizzas Mark saved the association nearly $300.00.
I would like to remind all members our community yard sale is scheduled for Saturday June 6, 2009. We will advertise this event in the Maryland Independent and offer a June 13th rain date if needed. We will also place notices at both community entrances. Please plan on participating. You can get rid of unwanted or unneeded stuff and make a little money in the process.
The next meeting of the BODs will be on Tuesday June 2, 2009 at the Trinity Baptist Church on Mattawoman Beantown Road at 7:00pm. BOD meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month to enable the BODs can carry out standard business procedures associated with community as well as give members who attend two minutes to present comments and suggestions to the BODs.
Please remember June 12, 2009 will mark the last day of school for our children so please be careful driving through the community and keep an eye out the children.
Thanks,
Jerry Dalsey
